Astrology Transits for April 23rd-30th: We are Still in an Eclipse Portal

Well my friends, we are coming to a big ending and beginning this week. A friend told me today that he was feeling a lot of hope and excitement for the future, but also a lot of grief. If that doesn’t explain this bridge between Pisces and Aries energy, I don’t know what does. We are still in an eclipse portal.
Venus is retrograde in Aries, and this energy is making us look at our impulsive, and unfiltered ways of connecting, spending money, and the choices we make and how that works with our values. Mercury is retrograde in Aries as well, making us look over our raw, unfiltered thoughts and comments, where we are brave or brazen, and where we might have check ourselves before we wreck ourselves.
I failed a test with my integrity this weekend, and I witnessed myself doing it, and… there were reasons I did it, fueled by loneliness and all kinds of other feelings of inadequacy. Reasons aside– I still did the wrong thing, and I am not proud of my behavior. I say this openly because my integrity is important to me, and there is nothing so Venus in Aries retrograde- as letting myself down by trading in my desire to be close to and intimate with someone for my personal values. This didn’t give me what I wanted- not even any instant gratification. It just sucked. There is a process I must undergo with recognition, witnessing, reassessing what I really want and how I have sold myself out instead of standing firm. I have a lesson to learn, and I’m committed to learning it.
Venus in retrograde in Aries is no joke. This weekend I also have had some really reaffirming connections with people who do value me. I experienced play, and fun, and something innate and pure– while being in integrity. I had examples of my magic and my shadow. My natal Venus is in Aries and retrograde, so there is some sweetness in my chaos.

Monday March 24th brings us a genesis point with the Sun eats Mercury in a cazimi in Aries. Mercury is currently retrograde. Thought and consciousness coalesce at this degree of Aries, and there is something that may be brought to light in our patterning. Remember that Mercury is going to head back to Pisces, and get deep into intuition, but first must burn up any impurities it’s carrying through the threshold. We might get an insight or realization, or perhaps something is brought to light that helps us understand ourselves better. We might get an idea or insight that will move us forward, even though we are still retracing cognitive steps. A good day to pay attention to what your mind is doing and telling you, and to catch yourself in your knee-jerk reactions.
This is happening awfully close to Venus retrograde, and for that matter, Neptune at the 29th degree of Pisces, so there is some spirituality, values, loss, and financial questions around this whole energy. Backwards motion is counteracting the speed in which we are moving forward. There is a —hurry up and wait– quality to the energy right now. One foot in, one foot out.
Well on Thursday March 27th, Venus moves back into Pisces, a sign she is exalted in, so she is in more comfortable territory, and she has a throne in this ocean. Once we’ve dealt with our more egoic needs with connection and money energy, we slip into what’s behind that. Our emotional truth, and stream; leading to what must be shed. Venus likes to be in Pisces, but she is backtracking to help us see something we missed about what we let in, what we have lost, and grief that is unprocessed. She wants us to clean up something we are attached to– and let it go. We often repeat emotional trauma in our life because it is familiar. She wants us to feel something, and she will conjoin with Neptune to give us some sort of big intuitive manifest-worthy message.
There is something about love and compassion to be learned here. I’ve said many times that Neptune and Venus together teach us the outer edges of our capacity of love and how much love can hurt. It’s because love is the connection artery of life, and it’s strong, durable, and it’s everywhere. We may find ourselves coming out of a delusion or illusion, or waking up from a dream. We may find ourselves coming to a peace with death and loss. We may find ourselves letting go of something deeply embedded, or struggling to have compassion for ourselves for not being able to let it go. There is a deep lesson for us to contemplate today, and it is emotionally felt, mixing around in our intuitive field.
Wait– there’s more. This is happening conjunct the North Node- meaning this is some fated energy moving us, and also conjunct Saturn, meaning, we are in tight alignment with our responsibility, our mission, and our work. We have to commit to moving through this for the long haul. These lessons want us to clean us and clear out. These lessons want to test our dreams. Moon in Pisces is coming to join this Piscean gridlock, to add healing to our nervous systems, cycles, and overall bodies.
Moon is coming around to make this lesson really stick in our bodies.
Saturday March 29th is the partial, solar, North Node eclipse in Aries. It's a big bold new Moon. This backtracking into the deep– it’s here to cause a rebirth, and on this day, it comes to that infinite point of ending and beginning. This new-moon eclipse is well aspected with Mars in Cancer, the ruler of Aries, making a trine to all that Pisces energy– Saturn, North Node, Venus, and Mercury which makes the transition of moving back from Aries to Pisces as the day wears on.
Mars is our intention. So we are supported in a web of healing and emotional truth as we are invigorating our wounding and how it has guided us. This is an ending and a sacred beginning with alchemy: fire and water make steam, and steam propels. Even juicier is the involvement of Uranus in Taurus as a minor triangle point with Mars and Saturn. Unexpected shifts, changes, and breakthroughs will happen. There will be an impulse to freedom, and it will move us, tenderly and with care. But we will be moved forward through this eclipse. It is blessing us, with some change.
The message of this eclipse will have us contending with what we must let go of, and heal- this is the last eclipse of the series that started 18 months ago between North Node Aries and South Node Libra. We may be getting a sense of what era is ending even if we don’t know which one is beginning. But we are embarking on a new era. There’s no denying that.
Mercury backtracks into Pisces conjunction Neptune in this last degree just as Venus did. This point is being made. We are all crossing a bridge and we can’t bring everything with us. There is intuition and emotional intelligence happening today, there is some deep support. But there might be loss, grief, letting go, and there might be choices made, or no choice but to make. Saturn is in a sextile with Uranus, and that means, we are being directed to being on purpose. There is a spiritual imperative coming from the gods, and we are meant to do this.
Sunday March 30th, Neptune moves into Aries and this is a big fucking deal.
The planet that confuses, deludes, inebriates, alters, hides, and dissolves with compassion, dreams, mysticism, spirituality, and infinite void, is going to express itself--very purely-- in the first degree of the zodiacal wheel. This is the first time in our lifetime to experience this, and Neptune will be flirting with and committing to Aries until around 2038.
Artists of the world UNITE. Art movements and subcultures thrived the last time this happened. There is a flame burning, socially, that will carry an ocean of potential and impetus. This shift will be felt. Art and spirituality are going to firehose in our societies, and this will be confronting, confusing, and it will move us forward. Some powerful water will run through the Age of Aquarius. This Neptunian ocean is propelled by fire, and there will be acts of courage, bravery, and chutzpah. There will be confronting, jarring, blunt and raw feelings coming through the collective, especially from men.
This is a time to look at the emotional world of men with compassion. That might sound daunting in a world run by a patriarchy. But the patriarchy/ oligarchy/ colonialism/ military industrial complex etc. all of it can only be dismantled through healing. So we need to now look at those that do not have the vocabulary and understanding of their emotional field, due to energetic starvation, domestication, or due to ignorance. Whatever it is that caused it, it's an US problem. We have to work together to make the world better.
We leave March soon for April with this huge shift in social energy, post eclipse, with 2 planets in retrograde still in Pisces. Our past, and what we had, and what we built, we’re still in it. But we are also thrust into a new fire, and impulse. What are you learning about yourself?
