Astrology Transits for the Rest of February: We Have Been Soul Searching

Hello friends, here’s my post about the rest of February, which has been a month that has challenged my motivation. I started a new day job in December and learning the ins and outs of full time intense sales has taken an energetic toll on me; so has the deep Pisces energy, which does its work on the most liminal of scales.
On Tuesday February 18th we entered Pisces season and the end of the zodiacal wheel, and I felt that so profoundly during this time in 2024, and again here in 2025. We aren’t– as a species– comfortable with endings, and yet they are a requirement for beginnings. We have a whopping 4 planets here in Pisces as well as the North Node, so we are facing some intense Pisces energy, which is spiritual, emotional, intuitive, and emptying. Pisces is the energy of endings, merging, and one-ness. This coupled with a trine between Mars in retrograde in Cancer has put us in some emotional terrain. We have been soul searching and dealing with a lot of inner turmoil surrounding what is safe, who is safe, what we want to create, and a lot of mother-stuff.
On Thursday February 20th, Mercury in Pisces squared Jupiter in Gemini, causing our emotional ideas and intuition to be challenged by our beliefs and expanded ideas. Mercury is the ruler of that Gemini Jupiter so there is some sort of emotional reckoning at foot with this frustration. Mine manifested in getting a substantial cold. Both Gemini and Pisces have a reputation around colds, and especially Pisces to excreting type illnesses. As Pisces is a bottoming out, hollowing out energy, it pushes things out of our body, and I can feel that now as I am home sick.
Mercury square Jupiter has us at odds with the collective belief system versus what we know to be true. We are all struggling a lot with this socially– the world has gone mad, and there is a collective frustration as we realize that things have not been what they seemed.
Furthermore– before my cold, Pisces energy (of which is predominant in my chart) had me (and a lot of us) feeling pretty exhausted. If you think of this as the end of a 12 month journey, it makes more sense, doesn’t it? We are all releasing what doesn’t serve, what must come to an end, and there is a collective fatigue. Our nervous systems have been in overdrive and our energy has been low.

Sunday February 23rd brings some interesting juju as Mercury creeps up close to Saturn in Pisces. Mercury rules what we know, think and communicate, and it makes an exact trine to Mars retrograde in Cancer just before Mars finally stations direct. Trines are beneficial aspects of ease and encouragement, and this is a water trine bestowing a degree of healing to us. Mars speaks to our desire and will, our energy and what it goes to. Mars also relates to our anger, and it’s initiatory energy that’s been interiorly focused during this retrograde journey. With it’s moment of redirect, and it’s blessings on our mastery, lessons, boundaries and spiritual work, as well as our way of thinking, communicating and knowing, this should be a notable day where we experience some degree of impetus, or breakthrough, emotionally.
Tuesday February 25th is the day that Mercury cozies up to Saturn in Pisces, where perhaps we have a greater understanding, knowledge, or standpoint for what our work in the world entails and what we are mastering. We might understand our boundaries more, or what the spiritual task will be, and we will more easily sit in that reality. That goes for endings too. Saturn doesn’t treat us with kid gloves, rather he will show us what we need to know to stay on task. As both these planets approach the North Node, we can be sure that this work is fated, and important to our future.
As we close out the month, on Thursday February 27th we have a New Moon in Pisces at 9 degrees, which squares Jupiter in Gemini. This gives us a whopping 6 planets and points in Pisces. As New Moons represent the ending and beginning of something, and this one is in the sign of endings and squaring one of the rulers of Pisces, we can be sure that this New Moon will challenge our beliefs, and potentially our dreams for the future. We may be challenged about what is ending, and what should stay, and we might find that our bodies and souls have to change its beliefs about what is helping and expanding– and what must die. This is a mutable square, so change is on the menu here, and what we believe, and how it affects us will definitely come up. After the New Moon is a powerful time to set intentions.
We end the month on Friday February 28th as Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow days before Venus stations retrograde on March 2nd. Just as Mercury begins its shadow in Pisces, Venus– now in Aries– did the same, and we are getting a lot of review about this area of our charts and there will be a spiritual sanding that occurs around the Aries/Pisces houses of our charts throughout the year. Retrogrades take things internal and make us go over a point, and as Mercury hits this pre-retrograde shadow, it might benefit us to notice how our thoughts, ideas, communications, and understandings may need to change or review. Look to areas of miscommunication or misunderstanding as a jumping off point.
February blessings!
